I finished my exams on Monday. Drafting exams might be the death of me. Being timed to draw something is brutal. Other than doing your assignments, there’s no way to study for a drafting exam. Basically you have no time to stop and think, you just have to draft like the wind. Manual timed drafting: a completely pointless skill.
It all hit me on the bus ride home. The all-nighter I pulled on Friday after closing at the restaurant, the 30+ hours of drafting I did the week prior, and the lack of eating or drinking any real food for days (if it couldn’t be prepared in 30 seconds or less, I didn’t eat it). I came home and collapsed in an achy pile on my couch.
I spent the past couple days getting my patio ready for summer. I am itching to start my veggie garden. Yesterday I bought one of those hanging baskets so I can grow upside down hanging tomatoes (Living life right on the edge). I did some damage at target buying outdoor pillows and string lights- when I came through the door with 5 throw pillows, Scotty hid his why-do-we-need-more-pillows look that husbands get when their wives are nesting.
And today I am on the ferry- headed to smother my youngest niece for the day. I brought along my camera (filled with dead batteries) to make good on my resolution to take some photos during my break.
